Worship Survey

A note before you begin:

Dear Church
What you are about to read [below] is a series of of questions that relate to our worship service.  The purpose of this review is to help us in making adjustments to our worship format, schedule, and style of music.  We have been "doing church" pretty much the same way for the last ten years.  The question in my mind, as your pastor, is "Are we still communicating the timeless truths of the Scriptures in a way that helps us glorify the Lord in a culturally relevant manner?"  This review is more about methods than substance.  I am not asking you to review the unchanging elements of our worship service: worship, reading of Scripture, preaching, prayer, Lord's Supper, etc.  I am asking you to review how we communicate and arrange these elements.

As you prepare to respond, here are some things to consider:
  1. Pray and ask the Lord to guide your thoughts as you fill out the survey.
  2. As you point out areas of improvement, it is especially helpful for you to offer a suggestion or two that could make things even better.
  3. If you think something is going well, saying that is important also.
Thank you for your willingness to help in reviewing our worship services.

Respectfully,
Pastor Mike Cadrette

Service Times
Currently, our service times are Saturday at 6:00 pm; Sunday at 9:00 & 11:00 am.
What would you change about our meeting time?

Please respond to a suggested model for our worship services:
-Saturday evening: service would remain the same, meeting at 6:00 pm
-Sunday morning: first service would go from 9:00 to 10:00 am (30 min. shorter than now)
second service would stay as is meeting from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm
-Two possible formats for first service only:
-The format would be more traditional, include more hymns, a pastoral prayer, etc.
-The current contemporary format would remain the same, but we would remove
some elements to shorten the service to one hour.
*The time from 10:00 am to 10:45 am would be available for large group training and
teaching for all age levels (baptism preparation, Discovery classes, etc.)
